When is Thame Food Festival?
The Thame Food Festival is held on the final weekend of September. In 2018 the festival will be held on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th September.
Where is the festival?
Thame Food Festival takes place at:
The Thame Showground
What are the opening hours?
On Saturday, the festival opens from 9.00am – 6.00pm, and on Sunday the festival will be open from 10.00am – 4.00pm.
I’m arriving by Public Transport – how do I get there?
Please go to our Public Transport page.
Where can I buy tickets?
Entry is £5 per adult and children under 16 accompanied by an adult are free.
You can purchase tickets in advance online by following this link. Tickets purchased before Sunday 16th September will be posted out in advance of the festival.
After the 16th September you can still book your tickets and fast track your entry by collecting on the gate until midnight on Sunday September 23rd.
Buy your tickets in advance for the whole weekend for a discounted price. Order tickets for both Saturday and Sunday for £8 instead of £10.
Please note this is ADVANCE BOOKINGS ONLY- if you come and buy a ticket at the gate on the day it will be the full price of £5 per adult – please bring cash as we don’t have card facilities on the gate.
Am I allowed to bring my dog to the festival?
Once again we’re having our Fun Family Dog Show and dogs are of course very welcome.
However, we do ask that they remain on their leads at all times and you use the dog bins provided.
There will also be water buckets available for your thirsty companions.
Do I have to pay for parking?
There is FREE car parking at the showground, just a moments walk from the festival, so you can keep popping back to drop off your booty.
We are also offering a FREE shuttle bus running every half an hour from Thame Town Hall to the showground and back all day, so hop on and off.
Please see the timetable here.
I’m walking to the Festival – where do I go?
We have a Pedestrian Entrance this year up by Chinnor Rugby Club end of the Show Ground (Further along the bypass and next to a mini roundabout). You will need to cross the road at the mini roundabout, please be careful as there will be a lot of Festival Traffic. Your safety is important to us, but it is also your responsibility to stay safe.
Please enter the show ground by following Pedestrian signs.
Please see map above.
This will take you down the outside of the Festival and around to the front Main Entrance where you can buy or pick up your tickets. Please note that is the only entrance that the Public can get into the festival – other entrances are for stall holders and Festival staff ONLY.
Walking in by the Rugby Club prevents you from having to walk on the grass by the bypass. It is safer, so please use it if you can.
At the festival can I pay by credit or debit card?
Please bring cash with you on the day. There are no cash machines available on the showground. But do bring your cards as many of our stall holders do accept card payment.
However, please remember the majority of our stalls are run by small artisan producers so cash is always preferable.
Will there be seating?
There will be plenty of seating, both covered and uncovered, at the festival. But please feel free to bring your picnic blankets and fold up chairs with you if you fancy.
Is their Disabled Parking?
There is Disabled Parking right by the entrance to the Festival gate – please ask a member of our security to direct you there as you drive in.
We also have accessible loos at all the banks of loos within the festival ground.
All areas are accessible but this is a grass covered area which is firm under foot – and uneven in places so it may hinder movement at times. Wheelchair and Mobility Scooter access is good around the Festival Show Ground and at entry.
Will there be free drinking water?
There will be various water points clearly marked around the showground. With this in mind, please bring your reusable and refillable drink bottles with you and fill up at one of our FREE water stations.
Here at The Thame Food Festival we are aiming to be plastic free by 2020. Please see our plastics policy here.
Please also bring your ‘bags for life’ to do your shopping.
What are the dates for The Thame Food Festival 2019?
The festival will run on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th September 2019.
