Here are just three of our lovely artisan producers that will be with us this year and who specialise in delicious beef.
First up Oving Dexter - A small local producer of grass fed Dexter Beef reared and finished on their family farm. Dexters are a traditional breed. The meat is exceptionally tender and full of flavour having been matured slowly and traditionally hung for at least 21 days. They sell a wide range of different cuts directly to the public.
And new to us this year, Martin's Meats - In the heart of the Cotswolds, Martin’s Meats is the home of longhorn beef. They produce, the finest longhorn and traditional breeds of beef. They also supply Gloucester old Spot and Middle White pork, Cotswold Reared Lamb and Free Range Poultry. In 2016 alone they won a total of 27 Great Taste Awards!
And finally, if you want your meat cooked with style, panache and a deep delicious flavour, look no further than one of our new Street Food Stalls - Meat Street BBQ - specialising in the finest authentic American BBQ. They smoke their carefully selected meats over various flavored wood, cooking it ‘low n slow’ for many hours to create the juiciest, and most flavoursome dishes. GBBO 2016's STAR Finalist is coming to Thame Food Festival!
We have some very talented chefs and bakers on our stage this year. Michelin starred and television stars showing us just how brilliant they are in the many demonstrations we have planned over the two days.
We’ll be highlighting them individually over the coming months, but we thought it would be nice to start with our latest booking - a brand new member of our Thame Food Festival Family.
The very lovely and very brilliant Jane Beedle! Finalist of The Great British Bake Off 2016.
Jane is a professional garden designer of 15 years, amateur baker and recent finalist on The Great British Bake Off.
Hailing from Beckenham, Jane swapped her gardening rake for her rolling pin and followed her family’s passion for baking into the famous GBBO tent.
After serving countless cakes, biscuit’s, fleur-de-lis mousses and a pie in the shape of the Tudor Rose, Jane made it to the final where she received the highly coveted Paul Hollywood handshake thanks to her delicious meringue crown.
Since Christmas 2016 she has been appearing regularly on ITV’s Lorraine show.
